The 40mm shotgun round is an ammunition type for the Multiple Grenade Launcher. It fires a wide spread of 12 pellets that can do a massive amount of damage at close range, being able to one-shot a fully geared player if all pellets connect.

This is the best shotgun in the game so I would treat it like a shotgun. If you head shot a player with this despite their armor they will still be insta dead. So you can do really good plays with it.
